Zenaidura carolinensis (Nourning Dove.) June 5, 1908. This evening about 8 o'clock I saw the two males (20 and 21) fighting with each other on a perch on which they are accustomed to roost. They were pecking at each other and slapping with their wings. I have noted this before in the evening. They still continue to coo. Both are in beaut- iful plumage now. June 16, 1908. Bought two, numbers 72 and 73, of Robison Bros. cost $3.00 June 20, 1908. One of the new doves is a female and seems to have taken a fancy to one of the males. It was most amusing to see the way the little female flutters her wings and follows the male about. Occasionally he will chase, only stopping to coo when very close and that very seldom. The two old males pursue each other with great viciousness. June 24, 1908. The two new females have mated with the two males (20 and 21). One pair has a nest on the top of the pop in
