The drake seems to be getting new tail feathers.
The "bald-pate" is beginning to show a little.
Black under-tail-coverts seem to be apparently
fully developed. The bird looks quite shabby as
though and extensive loss of feathers was
taking place.
December 17, 1911.
Drake is a little farther along than last Sunday.
Females in fine fresh feather, apparently having
undergone at least a partial body moult.
