Aristonetta valisineria. Common
Fuligula marila. Shot one. I presume that the
numerous Scaup Ducks seen were probably both of
this species and Fuligula affinis. Males were
in the preponderance.
blangula blangula. Common. Shot one drake.
Oedemia deglandi. Commonest outside.
Oedemia perspicillata. Commonest outside.
Erismatura jamaicensis. Two in slough.
Ducks were numerous, occurring in flocks of all
sizes, and singly. In the afternoon when the
tide went out large numbers of Scaup Ducks
and Canvasbacks were feeding in the shallow
water along the mud flats in San Leandro Bay.
Cerchnis sparveria. One in marsh.
Circus hudsonius. One in marsh, blue above,
white below.
Accipitrinus. Shot one in marsh.
Lanius ludovicianus. One on south shore of
Bay Farm Island.
Geothlypis trichas. One in marsh.
Melospiza cinerea. I saw lots of finches in
marsh and presume they were of this species.
Cormorants. Common, singly and in flocks. Probably
Phalacrocorax auritus.
