Alameda to San Francisco, Cal.
This morning when the steamer was off Goat
Island, I saw a Pelecanus californicus proceeding
southward.
October 4, 1909.
When at Kearny and Washington Streets, San Francisco,
this evening I saw three ducks pass
over southbound.
October 16, 1909.
During the past few days I have at times noticed
several Ardea herodias in the light near the round-
house, Alameda. At low tide I have also seen large
numbers of gulls here, apparently mostly Larus
californicus. On the bay I have seen this species
and occasional Larus heermanni. I have also seen
a few ducks flying and occasional cormorants.
