Alameda to San Francisco, California.
When I went to the city this morning the tide was
partly low. On the sand were large numbers
of gulls, largely Larus californicus, with some
Larus glauceseens. In the water there
were a few Scap ducks and Scoters along the
mole, and also three or four Aechmophorus
occidentalis.
On the day this evening a good number
of Larus californicus and Larus glauceseens
were seen on the San Francisco side. Along
the mole were a few scattering ducks: Scap
Ducks, Scoters, and a couple of Clangula
Clangula. Near the roundhouse I saw a female Arist-
netta valisneria.

fifty sandpipers and a good many gulls on
the mud. This evening I saw quite a few
