Loben hyperboreus. January 13, 1909. Received to-day two specimens of this species, one an adult, the other an immature bird which will be described later. January 17, 1909. The adult mentioned above has pink bill and pink feet and the feathers of its face are stained with rusty yellow. The immature bird has gray feet and gray bill with lighter color in spots. The plumage is white with considerable gray intermingled on back, back of neck, and head. The face about the bill has a yellowish tinge. The gray striping of the tertiarie resembles that of in marking the similar feathers in immature flamingoes. January 31, 1909. It seems to me that the feet of the immature bird have a pinkish cast. White feathers are appearing among the gray ones of the back. February 7, 1909. When anyone is near, the two Snow Geese keep up a continual low harsh note. The dvoice of the young is squeaky and less harsh than the adults
