November 30, 1907.
Alameda to San Francisco, bal.
Conditions: - cool; no wind; clear.
Along the mole a few ducks and small grebes
were seen. On the San Francisco side Larus
glancecens, mostly young, were abundant, while
Larus californicus was considerably less so.
Some several of the Slancous-winged Gulls
sat on the water until the steamer was
within a few feet of them. I saw a pair
of young ones fighting while sitting on
the water.
Dec. 1, 1907,
Alameda, bal.
Conditions: - Frosty early in morning; warm;
clear; no wind rest day.
On Central Ave. this morning at 7:15 I
saw about 30 Euphagus cyanoccephalus sitting
on telegraph wires, all punched fairly obvly.
In my back yard I saw two or three dull-
plumaged Sanderica anduboni, feeding in peach
fig trees, and one on ground. Saw one hanging head
downwards as do Eos bamarchyeli.
