Puffinus creatopus. A few. When two or three
miles offshore in the afternoon we saw a
flock of about twenty flying. A bird which
was wounded and captured called quite
steadily for over a minute—rather shrill.
Puffinus spithomelas. Quite common singly.
Phalacrocorax penicillatus. A few on rocky
islets along shore. Several seen flying, some
well offshore.
Dafila acuta. A flock of about twenty flew over
when we were several miles offshore. They were
going southward, passing us just out of range.
Phalaropus lobatus. A few. Sometimes several in
a flock. One was taken in winter plumage. I saw
some sitting on the water.
Heteractitis incanua. One on rocks at Lovers' Point.
September 10, 1907.
