evening I noticed two or three Larus californicus (adult) on the bay. A cormorant was seen flying southwest at close to the water south off Goat Island this morning. September 5, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, cal. Conditions: - Moderate temperature; westerly wind; fairly clear. adult This evening I noted some Larus occidentalis and Larus californicus while crossing the bay. Yesterday evening I noted Larus californicus, one Sterna maxima, and two or three Larus delawarensis (?) September 6, 1907. Alameda to and from San Francisco, cal. Conditions: - Moderate temperature; westerly wind; clear except in morning. Both in the morning and evening I saw three or four hundred gulls on the exposed sand near the roundhouse. They were nearly all adults, apparently Larus californicus.
