Conditions: - Moderate temperature; westerly wind; overcast in morning and evening. Several ducks noted along the mole this evening, and on the exposed beach quite a few shore birds, including some that looked like curlew. On the bay this evening young Larus glaucescens and adult Larus californicus were abundant. Several Larus philadelphian (some or two with white heads) were observed about the ferry slips on the San Francisco side. One or two flew very close to the boat. Last evening I noted five or six Nycticeorax mycticorax flying over the house tops, quite high in the air, going towards the southeast. Apr. 24, 1907. San Francisco to Antioch, Cal. On the way to Oakland Mole Larus glaucescens and Larus californicus were very common. Quite a number of Larus philadelphian were also seen.
