In the evening Larus californicus was very common; Larus glance scens, common; Larus argentatus, probably two or three; Larus occidentalis, a few. Gulls were very common along the mole; all were circling about; the tide was high. While west of Goat Island we came across an ank of some kind; it was too small to be a murre. When off the mole four scaup ducks passed us going north. MAR 16 1905 Alameda, cal. to and from San Francisco, cal. 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and 5:15 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. Conditions: More or less stormy all day. Ducks were common along the mole both in the morning and evening — they appeared to be mostly scooters and blue- bills. The following gulls were seen: Larus glance scens, a few. Larus occidentalis, four or three. Larus argentatus (?) two. Larus californicus, common. I saw three pelicans (Pelecanus californicus) off the ferry slip in the evening and three on the water (near the lighthouse) on the Alameda side.
