MAR 10 1905 San Leandro Bay, Alameda, bal. 6:00 A.M. to 12 M. Conditions:- Overcast; warm; S.E. wind. Ducks were very common:- Dafila acuta. Two. Aythya vallisneria. Very common. Aythya marila. Common. Aythya affinis. Common. Blangula clangula. A few. Erismatuira jamaicensis. Common. In goodsized flock. Ardea herodias. Two or three. Sandpipers.- Eremetes occidentalis; Actodromas minutilla; Pelidna alpina. Very common. Macrochamphus griseus. A few. Numenius longirostris. One. Squatarola squatarola. Common. Gulls. Quite a few Larus californicus. Cormorants. Two or three. At the foot of the street I saw quite a few Euphagus pyrocephalus and Anthus pencillanous. 217; Aythya vallisneria ; F; Alameda, bal.; C.A.S. No. 24228. This bird showed considerable abnormal yellowish red on the breast. I do not think it was iron stain. MAR 11 1905 Alameda, bal. to and from San Francisco, cal. Conditions:- S.E. wind; rain; warm. Ducks were common along the seawall and mole. I
