NOV 12 1904
Alameda, bal. to and from San Francisco, Cal.
Clear in morning; hazy in evening; no wind.
Larus californicus was very common; a few
Larus delawarensis were seen. Probe inside on
the morning trip, hence did not see much.
As I was coming down Market Street in the
evening there was a great many gulls circling high
above the ferry tower. I have observed the
gulls do this for the last two weeks at about
the same time. Very few gulls are seen on
the bay at this time.
NOV 13 1904
Alameda, Cal. to San Francisco, Cal.
11:30 A. M. to 12:30 P.M.
Conditions: - Clear; warm; light wind.
Larus californicus common; a few Larus delawarensis. When a little west of Goat Island,
I noticed a continual flight of gulls to the NE.
They all flew very low over the water, 300
or 400 strung out in a straggling column.
