74. Phalaenocorax. A few. In marsh:- Nycticorax nycticorax. A few. Rallus obsoletus. One. We heard these birds as we were going out this morning. Bathartes aura. One sailing over the marsh. At home :- 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Passer domesticus. A few. Calypte anna. One. Sep. 12, 1906. Alameda to San Francisco, Cal. Conditions:- 7:00 to 8:00 A.M. Cool; overcast; west wind. Passer domesticus was in evidence in town. Along the mole and in the bay I saw a good many Larus californicus. On the bay also saw a few Larus delawarensis and Larus heermanni. This last named species follows the boat at a good distance, while the other two come quite close. A flock of ducks passed high in the air, going SE. San Francisco to Alameda, Cal. Conditions:- 5:15 to 5:45 P.M. Rather overcast; Cool; west wind. I saw a good many Larus californicus, a few Larus delawarensis and a few Larus heermanni on the trip across. I saw a flock of about 12 Euphagus cyanoccephalus pass by high overhead near 5th St. Station. Sep. 13, 1904.
