34. July 22, 1904 San Francisco to Alameda, Cal. Conditions: - 5:15 P.M. to 5:35 P.M. Clear; light (west) wind; moderate temperature. Tide about high. I saw about fifty Larus occidentalis and Larus heermanni. Most of these were in flight, although I saw a good sized flock on the water off Goat Island. They were in a lot of floating rubbish and did not fly until the steamer was almost on them. Both of the above named species were present. July 23, 1904. Alameda to San Francisco, Cal. Conditions: - 7:00 A.M. to 8:08 A.M. Overcast; moderate temperature; light wind. I saw one or two Aphelocoma californica, a few Carpodacus mexicanus and a good many Passer domesticus. On the bay I saw a few Larus occidentalis and Larus heermanni. San Francisco to Alameda, Cal. Conditions: - 5:15 P.M. to 5:35 P.M. Clear; warm; light wind. I saw about twenty Larus occidentalis and Larus heermanni on the trip across, the former predominating. July 24, 1904. Alameda, Cal. Conditions: - Clear; warm; practically no wind. Between 7:30 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. I saw the following migratory birds:-
