Two were young birds. I saw several with black heads. JUL - 5 1904 Alameda, bal. to San Francisco, bal. 7:00 A. M. to 8:00 A. M. Conditions:- Overcast; windy; temperature moderate. Of course saw a good many Passer domesticus as I went down the street this morning. I also saw a Nycticorax nycticorax fly over. Along the seawall there were no birds going to the water being high. On a narrow strip of sand near the roundhouse I saw a few Larus occidentalis. On the bay I saw quite a few Larus occidentalis and Larus heermanni. All were flying eastward. The latter I did not see until off Goat Island. Here I saw three or four Uria troile on the water. 5:15 P.M. to 5:35 P.M. Conditions:- Overcast; windy; moderate temperature.
