87. Sept. 14. Warner. Cloudy. Heard Tenager over and Red-breasted Nuthatch several times in early morning. Thrasher Song Sparrow and Vireo Wren singing. Warbler notes have been heard several times yesterday and today. Left for Boulder Creek at 10 a.m. Partly cloudy- Sept. 15. Sun came up clear. Warm. Rusty-backed Thrush called repeatedly at dawn. Many quail, well grown. Rained in Berkeley last night. Sept. 16. Not. No wind. Tanagers in upper canyon, Sept. 17. " " " Cooler at night. Sept. 18. Beautiful day. House Wren heard several times yesterday and today. Occasional warbler notes. Thrasher sings much of time. Red-breasted Nuthatch heard Sept. 16, 17, 18. Sept. 19. Two Thrashers singing most of the morning. Also occasionally House Wren, Vireo Wren, Wren-tit. Call note of Olivaceous Warbler and Vireos (up?). Songy Nuttall Vireo heard. Sept. 22 Boulder Creek. S.V. Rusty-backed Thrush. W.V. Red-breasted Nuthatch. Near Dublin - one song of Gambel Sparrow. Crows near Mission Bridge At Dumbarton Bridge (4ft?) Avocets 90, Willets (yes), Yellowlegs 20, Band pipers W.S.L. Ducks (up?) 200- In violence at south many birds. No grebes or Phalaropes seen. One bird flies like a snipe- but showed black and white at back of tail longitudinal, not across. 6 Trolling Buzzards over washed east of Coyote Hills.
