Goshawks - light gray, long tail, broad short wings
The first I have ever seen. Later we went to
the Fleinbacher place about 4 miles south
of Tahoe City where we climbed to the top of
the precipitous rocks near the highway - We
had a beautiful view of the lake and the snowy
peaks across to the north and east and south west.
more
showing much snow than before the rains -
As we came down, a Hermit Thrush, sang beautifully - repeating its phrase in several keys -
Had combination dinners with Mrs. Hamlin.
The oldest son Bob told me he saw a couple
on the lake with about ten little ones (Wood Duck)
