June 1-6. Cool. June 67° rain -
Song Sparrow which had been feeding
one lone youngster began singing again-
(A new nest?) Virgin Wrens feeding young
in flicker box. Lutescent Warblers feed-
ing young below the Cloths line Terrace-
June 9. Purple Finches singing at dawn.
Russet backed Thrush, Thrasher, Robin,
Tolmie Warbler singing freely.
June 10, 11 hot. Young Virgin Wrens Calling -
Blue Jay sings frequently - especially
about 1 p.m. Feeding young across
Mrs. Ferguson found a baby
Morwood Road. quail dead on wall. Probably
June 12. Young Lutescent Warblers left the nest.
June 13. Song of Lutescent Warbler heard once.
June 14. Lutescent Warbler sang several times.
Rain after cloudy weather (June 12,13)
Mr. Beath reported family of young quail fled.
June 18. Young Virgin Wrens left the flicker box -
A family of juncos in the garden
Beautiful weather. Red-breasted Nuthatch
heard.
June 19,20 . . .
July 20-July 2. Weather warm. Very little fog.
July 3. Boulder Creek. Mourning Dove perch on
our electric wire frequently. Saw it first on
June 30. Brewer Blackbirds in the meadow.
Family of 18 young quail. When disturbed the
young fly, scattering. Parents run along just
ahead of us - Brown Towhee building again.
Many young chickadees. At dawn Rb. Thrushes
sings first; then junco, song sparrow, olive-
sided flycatcher. Family of Kingfishers,
Young full grown not very noisy.
