Oct. 1920. Berkeley.
Oct. 19. Two Hermit Thrushes came to bathe
at 5 P.M. 3 Golden-er. Sp. (indistinct
head stripes) came to Table -
Oct. 20. Jamie broke right arm at elbow.
Spent night and Oct. 21 at Alta Bates.
Oct. 22. Heard Hermit Thrush near house.
Oct. 23. Bird walk from College Ave. bridge east.
East brid just beginning. Saw Coppersucker,
Juncos, Ruby-er. Knights, Fox Sp., G.c. Sp.,
Lut. Sp. Townsend Warbler, bide permanent
residents. No summer visitors -
Lut. 3 Varied Robins in early morning -
At noon a Golden-crowned Sp. with band
or left foot came to table. Plumage looked
same as what I had little birds supposed
was that of first year bird.
Golden-er. Knights in oaks on Morwood Rd.
Oct. 24-30 Clear with more or less N. wind.
Varied Robins numerous, also robins,
perhaps because of plantings of Toyons
berries which have good crop -
Red-tailed Hawks conspicuous for numbers
Nov. 6. Went to Golden-State Park. Nothing
musical except large flock of returning
Blackbirds in Middle Ridge.
Large flock of Audubon Warblers also.
