Feb. Mar.
As I stood almost under the nest which was
perhaps 8 ft. from the ground, the female
alighted on the nest and placed materials
while she shaped it.
Feb. 20. Cold with heavy frost after light
rain. Allen N. still at nest.
Virgins men came for suet. Titmice
about box where they have nested 3 yrs-
Male in trees above called "Cedar-ink".
Female came and entered box. Could
detect no building material.
Feb. 21. Banded Fox Sp. still here. Also banded.
Br. Towhee. Frost in early a.m.
Feb. 24. Frost early. Brilliant morning.
Allen Hummers seen (mates). Shalatechters
in Emrythe Canyon. Two pairs of cuckoos
and one large flock seen.
Feb. 25. Cold north wind.
Feb. 26. Rain. Continued thru' Mar. 2
Mar. 2. Thrasher sang at 3:30 a.m. in rain-
Mar. 3. Brilliant. Frost in early a.m.
Saw two creepers - one in Claremont,
one on Panoramic way. Banded 3 birds
caught at 38 Mosswood. 1 Nuttall Sp. (1249)
