Dec. 22. Took night train to Los Angeles.
Cloudy - Not cold.
Dec. 23. Arrived on time. Clean, frosty.
Drove to Beverly P.M.
Dec. 28. Went to meeting of S. Dir. C.C.
in evening. Very heavy fog. Mr. Day-
gett took me home in this machine.
Dec 24 Saw Burrowing Owl on way to S. Monica.
Warm. Killdeer, pipits seen also.
Dec. 27. Went to Hermosa. Very warm.
Wore no coat in open car. Ate lunch
on pier. Saw Heermann Gulls, 2
with white heads. Hundreds of ducks
off end of pier. Flock of sandpiling
on beach, 1 Black-b. Plover. Butcher
birds seen by roadside.
Dec. 23-28. W. Nocking bird with broken
leg came every day for water. Hatched
in same garden several years ago -
my sister helped him to fly when he
was a baby bird.
Dec. 29. Went to Pomona. Very warm.
Dec. 30. Went out to Ganaska Park for an
hour. Saw following birds:
And-W. (Abundant), W. Robins (several flock)
Lumets (abundant), Flickers (3), Mocking
