Dec. 6. Flock of Bluebirds seen flying above
a soaring Nanti and calling very
loudly. Bluebirds finally disappeared
from view though I could still hear
their calling high in the sky.
House Men on the hill.
Dec. 7. Say Phoebe seen at ranch at
head of canyon.
Dec. 13. Clear, frosty. Went to Lake Merced
with S.F. And Assoc.
New species identified - Short-billed
Gull - Specimen found - presented
to museum.
Whistling Swan. Flock of 11 seen.
One left dead by hunters. Retrieved
and presented to museum.
Wilson Snipe - very shy. Slipped
out of tules for a moment.
Sora Rail - Watched it feeding on
edge of tules for 15 min.
Saw also many eared grebes,
2 W. Grebes, Canvas Backs, Ruddius,
Coots, Killdeer, Sp-N. W. Red-tail,
Flickers, Pipits, Juncoes, Nuttall Sp.
