Sept.12. Flocks of migrating warblers seen.
Heard Red-breasted Nuthatch. Heard one
Grosbeak, also Russet-backed Thrush.
Sept.13. Saw one W. Flycatcher.
Sept.12. Watched Strange Flycatchers in
Cordovices canyon. Perched on wire,
flw out often. Quick, business-like.
Note heard once - reminded me of syll-
able note of Ash-throated Flycatcher.
Size of Wood-pewee. Color - clear gray
above, lighter than Wood Pewee. 2
mig bars, whitish underneath, gray
on sides. Head very flat. Trail F?
Sept.20.
Went alone to Golden Gate Park. Car to
43rd Ave. Walked thru Park to 14th Ave.
Then took car to Cliff House. Saw Allen H,
Killdeer (flying over), Breve Bl., Duttoned Sp.,
1 Cooper Hawk, Pine Siskin (a few), 2 Phalaropes
(Northern?), Russet-b. Thrush, 1 Blue Bird,
Oil W., Song Sp., Lut. W., Black Ph., Nuttall Sp.,
Virgin Wren, Tanager, Anna H., Linnet,
W. Flycatcher, Chickadee, Yellow W., Yellowthroat,
And. Warblers, Red-br. Nuthatch, Quail, Flicker,
Bushtit, Riq. Sp., Purple F. Coots, Mallard
Pied-billed Grebe, Puddy Duck (with 2 babies)
