Aug 1-4. Young Olive-sided Flycatchers
on telephone wire, calling a-pee-
her softly and trying to catch
flies -
Aug. 12. Saw a Robin near the Museum in an
oak tree. Flew to telephone wire, then
over bleachers to south.
Aug. 13. Began second year at Claremont
Outdoors School - every Wed., A.M.
Aug. 14. Tolinie Warblers singing in morning.
Dr. Witwer Stone of Phila. Acad. of Sciences
spoke at Cooper Club. Urged more literary
work in Ornithology.
Aug. 22. Tolinie Warbler singing.
Aug. 23. W. Tanager in juniper on Mosswood Road.
Aug. 27. W. Robin flew over Claremont School -
Thrushes, Towhees and Song Sparrows have
completed fall moult and appear in
bright plumage. Belly of S.F. Towhee
pure white.
Aug. 28. Black-h. Grosbeak seen.
Sept. 5. Saw W. Tanager in La Loma Pice
Tree. Began year's note in Greenwood
School - Friday mornings -
Sept. 9. W. Tanager on Mosswood Road.
