Mar.1. Ladies came to watch birds. Cooler,
Cloudy, balmy. Show continuous. 1 White Thp.
3 Jays. 5 Fox Sp. 3 Song Sp. 3 S.F. Torches,
2 Br. Torches, juncos. Thrasher (ate nuts)
At fountain - Varied Thrush (1 with broken
wing) R.C. Kinglets. In sunny gulch the
Allen Hummer was in fine feather, doing
pendulum. Heard Rufous-crowned Sparrow.
Mar.2. Cold. N. Wind.
Mar.3. Cold. N. Wind. Mar.4. Cold. Fox throat.
Mar.5. I heard Lutecent Warbler about noon. 1st time
Mar.6. Flock of about 100 Robins flew high
up canyon at dusk. (Do they have roost
in pine trees near Grizzly Peak?)
Mar.7. First Spring Bird north Claremont
Canyon. Lutecent Warbler. Large flock
of robins. A few Varied Thrushes. Many
Vigors Wrens. Bush lits - many pairs -
1 small flock. Juncos, Torches, Allen
Hummer etc.
Mar.9. White throats Sparrow still here.
Mar.13. Warm. " " " "
Titinouses singing, also Vigors Wren and
Thrashers. Many Intermediate Sparrows
on hill near Bairds, also on Right of Way.
First time this winter.
