Jan. 4. In other years birds have come in numbers to the table for food, eating all I put out for them. This year very few come and those only occasionally. Probably the early rains, followed by warm weather, caused abundant food supply.
Jan. 25. Donald R. Dietley showed his Motion Pictures. "Game Trails of the Northern Woods". Met Mayor Allan Brooks, who is painting at the Museum.
Jan. 28. Wren at table - first time for many months. Also 1 Song Sparrow (banded), 1 Br. Towhee (banded), 2 Fox Sparrows, 1 White-throated Sparrow (banded). White-throated Sparrow has been missing for two weeks.
Jan. 29. Cold with flurry of snow. Birds linger for food at last. (Feb. 4. Dr. Bryant saw Allen Hammer)
Feb 6-26 - Influenza - James & Jamie.
Feb. 15. Warm. Many birds come to feed. Song Sp., Thrasher; (Vigoro Mice beginning to sing.)
Feb. 16-19. Warm.
Feb. 17. Heard Allen Hammer - first time.
