on Rock near light house. Saw also Yulls,
Willow goldfinches, Nuttall sp. and Song sp.
Cliffs covered with Beach Aster, Stone crop,
Yellow lupine, Snapdragon etc.-
July 3. Blue jays brought 3 young to table.
Adult peeked at windows repeatedly.
W. Flycatchers seen again on nest under
porch. Male calls often.
July 5. Jays about continually.
July 7. Saw 1 young S.F. Towhee. Cool, foggy.
July 10. I heard Robin at dawn. Mr. Clark
Bleichsunderfer (Colorado) took pictures of
jays through dining room window.
July 12. Walked up canyon road, up hose back trail
to Mosswood Road after supper. Thimble
still singing. Vagrants were taking dust
bath. Birds abundant.
July 14. Mr. B. Came again to take photographs .
July 17. Young jays spend much time on the
feeding table. They feel themselves when
they are alone but tease the parents if they
come near.
July 18. Russet-backed Thimble still singing.
July 19. W. Flycatcher feeding young of 2nd brood.
Young jays give two calls of adults
July 24 .. very lame. Blue fed from my hand
