Dec. 12. Went to Lake Merritt - Thousands of
ducks in following order of abundance :
Pintails, Bald Patis, Ruddy D., Shovelers,
Mallard (15 pr.), 2 Ross Snow Geese .
Gulls = Glaucous-w., Calif., Ringbilled,
Herring (1), Pied-billed Grebe, Brewer
Blackbird, Flicker and Sparrows.
Dec. 14. White-Throated Sparrow (2) come
in with other birds every day.
Dec. 15. Hermit Thrush comes for Toyon berries often.
N. Winter Wren heard often every day - Call not only -
Dec. 19. Birds come in greater numbers than earlier
this season but not as many as in former years
Rain.
