53 7/18-17 A sec. string of 43 traps in mur. canyon, 1/2 mi. above junction and down to auto road and 1/4 mi. south along ft. of hill. Caught gamb. F1; g's 2 7/6 Canyon road from hog ranch (See p.49.) buildings north 3/4 mi. - 67 traps, gambeli F1 - stump-tailed - buff " F1 - jaw-post-jut, ceremicus, 1F, 1g both adult. Reith - 4 - not sexed. 7/9 Cereus Canyon - Started near bunch of cereus, along north side of canyon to cliffs, then north along cliffs to 3rd canyon (next can- yon north) - up this canyon, about 1/2 mi., then west up to top of cliffs - and on north into hay field. Set 4 traps around large hay stack. Bait taken but no mice caught here. Best results on north bank of canyon from cereus to cliffs; good along edge of cliffs - in fact along whole route except at.
