Aug.9. Gambeli: 3's in canyon n. of lake. (1 - in grass & mustard, high hillside. 2 in channel Weather Aug. 2-9 warm and clear. ".16. Rose Canyon: String 34 traps from old windmill up canyon about 1½ mi. Most of the traps were set in or near the stream bed among the exposed roots of sycamore trees. A few traps (5-6) were set on the south slope of the canyon, extending almost to the top. Prev. veg. here- weed rose & gooseberry. Gambeli # 2 (in same trap under large uprooted sycamore in stream bed, near bank. Grass land near. 28's - in hollow log, tree-str. bank. Weather: clear and warm. "17 String of 61 traps in canyon running south from lake or city farms along edge of canyon side- and running up into the branch canyons. Prev. veg. mustard and elder shrubs. Caught no gambeli, this looked like a good locality!
