The birds seen at Lake Merritt today were: Coot, Mallard, Mute Swan, Baldpate, Wood-duck, Lesser Scaup, Pintail, Puddy Duck, Canvas-back, Pied-billed Grebe, Western Grebe, Eared Grebe, Forster's Tern, Ring-billed Gull, Brewer's Blackbird, Canada Goose, Lesser Canada Goose, Cackling Goose, White-fronted Goose, Lesser Snow Goose, American Egret, Black-crowned Night Heron, Double-crested Cormorant, American Golden-eye, California Gull, House Finch, English Sparrow, Western Robin, and Red-shafted Flicker, for a total
