Ludwig, J. P. 1964 8 birds is common. Courtship: We noted a decided difference in facial colors of mated birds. Soliciting birds (♀?) always were the brighter of the pair with pink and green as well as blue and red. The ♂(?) is always redder and bluer in his face, the ♀(?) is always more orange and green. Soliciting postures (which may also function as aggressive advertisers of one's presence on territory) are done by the ♀(?) (green and orange faced birds) and are directed at the mate in a head up tail up both-wings- raised posture-schematically as: Wings are hunched forward. Voice: a thin throaty rasp, very low intensity of the same territorial rasp given on arriving at the roost or nest area. Several times I noted birds flying in high circles (m.p.p.) carry- ing nest materials. Materials were seen being gathered from the ground. Copulation was observed to take place on the nest (2 times) and next to (once) the nest. One killed (by mongoose) adult was found eaten. Activities: Maximum numbers were observed on roost at 1845. Most of behavior was fighting, courting. Flight: Today many birds were seen to be slipping wind. Of ten birds descended hundreds of feet in a few seconds this way. (m.p.p.).
