Sept 25 up at 6:30 A.M. for breakfast -
Cam got the mice; called Dr. Ely ~ 8:00 A.M.,
talked to Jan, gave shipping wt. 350 lbs.,
120 cubic feet, 40 boxes, 160 Wedgetails;
8:45 loaded 2 freezer containers with
blood, 3 unknown birds and several other
specimens; 9:15 loaded birds in VP; 9:30
we headed for Johnston - took birds first
to Holmes and Narver shipping dept. and then
to MATS cargo; we returned the unused boxes
to the storeroom and were introduced to Sam
the young pet Fairy Tern in the Security
Badge office - had picture taken with him
on my shoulder; after all was squared away
we left Jillson waiting for the plane and
returned to Sand for chow; heard the plane
leave 2:10 P.M.; we ran our routine checks
but had to delay the guywire census until
tomorrow; saw a small Sandpiper which Cam
thought might be a Baird's.
