Lehner, P. 1964 32 Aug. 12 - didn't make breakfast again after last night's struggle with the sooties; checked mouse traps and took scales to other end in preparation for Noddy chick weighing in afternoon; rain this A.M. and P.M. - worse day for weather to date; Cam spun down more blood samples while I was at other end - he had my watch which was a half hour late - he almost didn't get any chow; looked like and definitely was rain in early P.M. - spun more blood samples; 2:00 P.M. to other end to weigh chicks - had to quit at 4:30 P.M. and return after chow - finished just before dark; numbers Cam put on Boobies appear to show up quite well; however, they do not seem to have penetrated well and may flake off; saw an adult Noddy pick a Noddy chick up twice and drop it from a height of 10ft. - amongst the flurry of birds it appeared to be the adult incubating an egg 1.5 feet away (the closest egg). - tonight we'll set traps for mice and check wedgetail change-over.
