Lehner, P. 1965 Feb. 11 - continued there was an adult Blue-faced Booby in the islet bunker - we put on band # 737-44622 - there were two other adult Blue-faced Boobies on the east rim of the bunker; at 2300 we went to the other end to collect 6 Sooty Terns and 5 Common Noddies - they were collected and Norm tried to brush ectoparasites from them and Morse took blood from some before the died or were killed; they were weighed and measured, then froze. Sunset saw many thousands of Sooty Terns on and over the island; if I was to point to a day which would mark the turning point when the Sooties would begin to occupy the island throughout the day in mass, lay and begin incubation, I would say that today was that time.
