Lehner R.
1965
Jan. 10
picked up trapped mice; caught 15, two
were marked, 13 were autopsied; set traps again
across east side of island after supper; saw a
Christmas Island Shearwater flying back and forth
across the east shore (a band was visible); this
is the first one seen this year.
Jan. 11
picked up traps and mice for autopsy;
autopsied 14 mice, making a total of 40
for the month; the population of mice
appears to be lower this month than in
Dec. and Nov. as our overall trapping success
is lower.
