21 April 8! Tucson Ariz. 5937 250 Asturina plagiata 17.7X34.9 ♀ Was looking for the nest of 244 and found one with this bird sitting on a limb beside it. I shot it and climb the tree (a Mesquith) feeling arms I had a set of eggs, but on reaching the nest I found it to be empty. It was an old one and had not been repaired. It undoubtedly belongs to this female. She evidently would not have laid for some weeks. Searched further for another nest but found none. Saw another bird of this species near where I shot 244 yesterday. It likely is its mate. Stomach contained hair and fur of mice? 5938 251 Haemorhynchus cristalis 128X126 ♂ Light gray almost white Mesquit. 5939 252 Icterus cucullatus 8.2X7.1 ♂ 5940 253 Helminthothrix lucida 4.3X6.9 ♂
