Oak timber for good, as our donation will be confined to the lower plains except we make a trip to the mountains again. We are now at the extreme eastern edge of the arid deserts, and nearly out of the grass regions. I have already seen a few Bactus plants and tomorrow we will likely find Harpohyminia abundant. Scattered all over this desert are Mesquit trees sometimes forming groves. An old Mesquit is about the size and form of a very old Apple tree. It does not spread out quite as much as that tree usually does. It is deciduous, now budding out. Foliage very scant. 5879 192 Octopus parviflorum 86x12,k 8 193 Ditto badly shot 82x19 9 194 Calliope squamata 10.7x14.7 ♀ Saw two flocks.
