5 July 81 15 miles west of Maricopa 6303 416 % C. B. Cory 6304 617 Dotts Harporhynchus lecontii 10.8x12.3 8" .10.6x12.9 ad Iris reddish brown, Bill black Legs blackish. Gizzards contained a small species of Katydid and ants. No other seen. Locality near the middle of the 75 mile Desert between Maricopa Wells and Gila Bend. No chollas or other cacti in the immediate neighborhood but some Giant Cactus about a mile away the hills; A few Mesquite and much scattering low brush. No notes heard. Tail carried elevated at about 75° angle. Nearest water 20 miles. No other Thrushes seen today and exceedingly few birds of any species.
