Legs brown. Insects. Would have
commenced laying in about two
weeks. Wren not a sharp clink
Song heard yesterday for the
first time. It is difficult to
describe. It is rapid and about
the middle raises to a higher
key and subsides to nearly
the form, occupying perhaps
two seconds of time.
I have found this species common
along the Colorado and Gila
rivers, and saw one pair on
the San Pedro, and this pair
here. They appear to be restricted
to the vicinity of streams near
in thick brush, though they are
present less more than annual in
this genus. I have seen them
hunting insects in the bark of
