As I was coming home from
Town This morning a peculiar
Hawk flew from a tree near
the road and was almost im-
mediately lost to sight. It
was about the size of the Red
tailed Hawk. Had a tail as
white as that of an old Bald
Eagle; also a white patch on
the wing, which appeared to
me as if the secondaries were
all white. The rest of the
plumage appeared to be dull
brown. I only saw it while
it was flying perhaps 20
yards and might easily have
been mistaken.
