Cranberry
Bog Pond,
Maine.
Summer of
1886.
Podilymbus podiceps.
Wm. Sargent tells me that he found a Grebe's nest in this pond. It was floating, being chiefly supported by lily-padson which it was built. It was composed of grass, lily-pads, etc. & was empty when found late in October.
