June 14 Nest on horizontal branch, large hardwood, 10 ft. from trunk, 5 ft. from end
of branch, 35 ft. above ground, 38 ft. from top of tree in hardwood woods within
20 yds. of lake shore on Stephen front. 4 eggs about ½ concentrated.
She sat very closely having to be almost knocked off with a stick.
The first stood on edge of nest then, when further disturbed, flitted
down through the branches pretending to be wounded or disabled
quivering her wings & spreading her tail.
