faces us back. As dark approaches, we climb up a
dry gully or ridge, arriving just - 800' above the
canyon floor (600' elev.). At 2010 we hear Calls -
Hornell's Star Vireo's arrive. At 2015 Hornell's
calls are heard - not as many Hornell's so Hornbill is (about
1/2 coming) - The birds are all above us. Were below us
last night. Thus we pinpoint the nesting site
at about 2000 - 3000' elevation, probably situated on
the steep grass slopes scattered throughout the steep
cliffs.
At camp, we hear some Hornell's Hornbill above
us - not as many as in the steeper part of the cliff.

Hoeman is probably the man for this work. Perhaps next
spring.
En route to Waimea, we find Erebah's
Franklin along the road - 1.
