quite unusual in Chinese villages of this kind. The Manchukuo government was formed by the Chinkiang Government. We went to the P.O., where we called up Mr. Kerman, the postal commissioner. He had his harqist, a Swedish Airman, coming with him. From them we got much news. We went to B.A.T. House and enjoyed something after tea with our tent-top chef of a bath which was made full. It began to rain at 6 P.M. and rained all night until Sunday morning.
