at my watch. Then automatically began. The horses had been pulling well but with long hill the big Russian horse & my white cart pony began to behave badly stopping every few moments & at last refused to go; To add I was uncomfort the heavy clouds which had been scurping toward us from the east, gave rise a deluge of rain; Then the shrigles flying each away and it had a hail that ripped easily from on the hill side. But poor we hard beautifully and insulted out to spirit of the chase, edging in so that I could reach for the bridle speaking to the runaway horses to try & to arrest us. The big Russian horse initially balked absolutely & refused to pull at all no matter how hard we beat & pushed him. So we had to take out Peter, who had reached the top of the hill & have him take up the Russian's load. Then was trouble all turned upside way again with the Russian with white horse, and both rain & winds were in a most disagreeable way of it. About five o'clock as we came down a long hill I saw two you far over found this rise & up I went,
