24 W.15 Gray Whale 8 Jan, 1871 12 Ellman Kava a dark whale. Upper half offounds plain black - lower half thinly covered with rather small gray markings ("blow") to a few barnacle scars. Sides from anus to fins has a good many light gray patches with white edges which almost join; these also cover its belly but do not extend on the back.
