is light for almost whole distance but the light is very narrow toward proximal end. Under surface of both fins is very light gray superior surface finely lined with graphitic almost white. Baleen Brushes of 1st one fifth of baleen row all white - 2nd - fifth has tips grayish- in 3rd fifth tips grayish for about 8 or 10 inches - in 4th fifth grayish for half their length from tips down- ward - last fifth all grayish. For 3/5 cent. from tip of baleen row on either side plates all white. Eye Length of pupil = 15 mil. Dia. " " = 11 " Length of iris = 38 " Dia. " " = 23 " circ. of eyeball (trimmed) = 3/0 mil. Pupil elliptical - then comes 2/2 of dark brown (much darker than in Finback) which is 1/2 mil wide - then just a suggestion of a bluish-white ring or edging to the next wide ring which is almost black turns off into the gray of the eyeball; there's blackish ring is 1/9 mil. wide - eyeball is elliptical
