head & snout - The head is elongate square ended - that edges round off gradually at the end of the snout - proximally the sides of the snout swell out to ---- the eye. On the top, from the base of the skull to the snout its sections is very slightly concave - that is, the base of the skull & the snout are a trifle higher than the central portion - The snout in the center is 141 wide; it is 324 deep & the width of the upper portion of its snout is 91. A little about the center of the snout two deep [illegible] wide depressions run back- ward & downward - the width of the snout between the ends of these depressions is 69 - The depressions mark the anterior half of the sphenaceth "case"; it becomes narrower & shallower as they go back- ward, finally being lost [crossed out], on its very top of the snout there is a small rounded eminence, on the left side of which is the blowhole - A cross section of the snout looks like this: - top 1/9 cent. from the corner of the t mouth forwards there is an [illegible] both sides of the upper lips a marked transverse depression or crenature 2 or 3 inches long. In the very center of the top of snout is a shallow depression running bottom
